IMPERFECTIONS WELCOMED HERE

“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”

We wake up each morning to greet the sun shining through New York City's windows, shining upon the good, the bad and the ugly. OK, let me rephrase it. The sun shines upon the beautiful and the unnoticed. I say unnoticed because today's definition of beauty is so vast, I don't know what's beautiful to most people anymore. It seems the imperfections on someone's skin makes them an outcast. Whether it's skin burns, pigment discolorations, or not the at the moment cover girl look, then it is despised, rejected and covered.

You are altogether beautiful.

The day is done and the moon along with millions of stars light up the sky majestically. No rays of starlight shine more over one building just because it's occupants are considered more perfect than others, according to today's standards on perfection. No. Once more, the same attention or lack of it is given to everyone, the wise, the foolish, the friend and the enemy. Everyone is somewhere, but not everyone is feeling the same.

You are altogether beautiful, my love.

Imperfections create groups and categorize people according to what they lack or seem to bring extra attention to. Imperfections, by the standards of the beauty world, isolate you or pour you into the masses. Imperfections give you the bonus attention and supposed love hearts crave for, or leave you in the corner, hand stretched out, begging to be seen and wanting for some affection.

I think the word imperfection is wrong because no one, not even the most beautiful person is perfect. There is always something that is touched by Photo Shop, makeup or slanting your face a certain way so the true size of your nose is less noticeable.

You are altogether beautiful,my love.
And there is no blemish in you.

You are not imperfect. There is nothing wrong with your hair, your face, your body and your personality. You are unique. And that means that there is no one else like you. Inside you there are great qualities, talents, and an amazing person the world is losing out on knowing because the world doesn't know what to look for. It goes searching but never discovers hidden treasure in the most unexpected places.

Beautiful. Perfect. Original. You.

Imperfections. Yes, we all have something we wish we could change. I do. Hey, I'm not going to lie, but what if we took the time to really take a good look in the mirror, we'd see, the truth. You are perfect. You are. The way you are is amazing. Don't let the voices of this world make you feel incomplete or imperfect in any way. God created a masterpiece when He created you!
